About Chemistry party band

Welcome!

CHEMISTRY – WEDDING, PARTY AND FUNCTION BAND IN BUCKS, UK

An experienced two- to six-piece line up fronted by the powerful vocals of lead singer Wendy and singer / saxophonist Tasha, this high-energy band will guarantee a chain reaction of non-stop dancing with hit after hit from the rock’n’roll sixties, funky disco seventies, back to school eighties, rocking nineties through to modern day club anthems.

Chemistry Party Band is available in different formats: as an acoustic duo or trio we perform at intimate events, with dinner music followed by dance-floor-filling acoustic anthems. As a budget-friendly four-piece we bring a big band sound and the full repertoire of party hits. For larger audiences, nothing beats the rocking six-piece band – and we love adding a horn section for an unforgettable big-band night.

Meet the Band

All professional and internationally experienced multi-instrumentalists, band members have appeared at many prestigious venues, from Ronnie Scott’s, The Royal Albert Hall, Blenheim Palace, The Savoy and the Leander Club and even playing privately for the Australian and Indian cricket teams in Dubai.

Most importantly, we simply love what we do – making people dance, and creating memorable nights for our clients.

Wendy

Wendy has delighted audiences in many hundreds of venues across the UK and Internationally.

Anyone who has seen Wendy perform live will agree that she has that rare combination of glittering on-stage presence and a powerful, smoky voice.

Wendy loves nothing more than to front up Chemistry, and has consistently delivered stunning performances with energy and excitement. She is never happier than when she has her mic, her Taylor acoustic guitar, a sparkly outfit and an audience ready to party!

BILL

Bill is the showman in the band and just loves to wow a crowd!

He likes nothing better than to launch into a powerful and emotional guitar solo and watch the faces in the audience glow with excitement and anticipation… in his mind’s eye, anyway.

Bill has been playing and singing in bands for many years both here in the UK and abroad. Best known for his legendary rock solo renditions, Bill believes that he’s one of the finest guitarists in the Universe and boy, don’t the rest of the band know it!

Far from being the shy type, Bill will always be the first to jump off the stage into the arms of his adoring fans…unless he is doing his other job in the band, which is behind the drumkit.  Bill recently revealed a secret desire to be a drummer, and sometimes he trades guitar for a fabulous set of DW Collectors drums.

TASHA

When the rest of us are totally flagging after four straight nights on the road, Natasha ‘Duracell’ Willis is producing her soaring vocals and dancing around like an aerobics teacher – whilst all the time managing to look as fresh as a daisy!

If incredible vocal presence were not enough, Tasha is a talented musician in her own right, sporting a cool trio of ‘black belt’ Grades in piano, sax and singing, plus a Degree in Music Performance.

She has occasionally been spotted lighting up the stage at the Royal Albert Hall, London Palladium, Westminster Abbey, and The Vienna and Montreaux Jazz Festivals. As a Rock Choir Leader, Tasha loves to teach, and next year will lead her group to a historic performance in the O2.

The newest member of the band, we all agree that Tasha has been a fantastic addition to Chemistry. With harmonies that perfectly compliment Wendy, and searing sax solos in those songs when only the real thing will do, Tasha also takes the lead mic on some of the club anthems, with some killer tunes from Jessie J, Rihanna and Journey.

Modest and unassuming off-stage, Tasha brings tons of enthusiasm, energy and stage presence – she is never happier than playing music she loves, and seeing our audiences dancing and having a great time.

Robin

Despite his supernatural beginnings, Robin is today equally at home on the electric bass, synth bass, and upright (double) bass.

Robin excels in many styles as a live performer and has appeared at the Vienna, Troyes and Montreux Festivals, the Royal Festival Hall, and many other concert venues around the UK. He also works as a composer and producer. Hailed by many as the best looking member of Chemistry, it is little consolation for the other (male) members that Robin is also super-talented, hardworking and an all-round thoroughly nice bloke!

Tom

If music were the food of love, Tom would be Mr Barry White himself!

“In the beginning there was a bass. It was a Fender, probably a Precision, but it could have been a Jazz – nobody knows. Anyway, it was very old… definitely pre-C.B.S. And God looked down upon it and saw that it was good. He saw that it was very good in fact, and couldn’t be improved on at all (though men would later try). And so He let it be and He created a man to play the bass. The man was called “Tom”. “Tom” played upon the open E string and the note rang through the earth and reverberated throughout the firmament (thus reverb came to be.) And it was good. Then in the course of time, the man came to slap upon the bass. And lo, it was funky”

In no particular order Tom plays piano, bass, synths, guitar, clarinet, ukulele, percussion and frisbee – any one to a level that most people only dream of.

An accomplished arranger, conductor and Musical Director, Tom is the man that creates the band’s trademark vocal harmony parts. With fingers like an octopus, when not slapping the bass Tom simultaneously provides sparkling piano, strings and funky brass section to authenticate any style of song, be it pop, rock, funk, soul or ballad.

Did I mention? Tom also has the worlds largest – 100% genuine (I know because I’ve pulled it) – GIANT GINGER AFRO.

Dave

Our drummer can be summed up in one word.. The Rock! (Okay 2 words).

Dave has played in rock, pop and party bands for 384 years, and has forgotten more about paradiddle-diddle polyrhythms than the rest of us will ever know. Unlike many drummers, Dave practically invented “light and shade” and his ability to switch between delicate ballads, pumping disco and huge rock anthems is one of the band’s great assets.

Dave’s reliability on-stage is just as evident off-stage; no matter how early the rest of us arrive at a venue, Dave is already there and set up.

Dave is a great drummer (he could make statues dance), and a delight to work with – all in all a bona-fide 168 beats-per-minute powerhouse.
